Forestry Mulching in Knoxville, TN

We mulch dense underbrush, woody shrubs and small trees along overgrown lots, trails and fence lines. A compact track loader shreds suitable growth into an on-site mulch layer while we work around marked trees. Roots remain in the ground.

Best for overgrown lots, trails and selective clearing where an on-site mulch layer fits your plans.

  • Shred underbrush, woody shrubs and small trees; stems up to 7 inches assessed individually.
  • Controlled passes around the trees you want to keep.
  • Mulch processed on-site; root removal and hauling are separate.

Past Forest Mulching Project

2-Acre Forestry Mulching

The customer wanted to open up 2 acres of wooded area. We mulched dense underbrush and smaller trees while keeping the marked trees. The cut material stayed on the ground as mulch, leaving the area easier to walk and maintain.

Our Forestry Mulching Process and Equipment

We mark clearing limits and retained trees, then use a forestry-equipped compact track loader with a drum mulching head. Suitable stems around 5–7 inches need an equipment and site check. Controlled passes process the wood into ground cover; roots and large root balls remain unless separate work is included.

Knoxville Underbrush and Invasive Growth

Chinese privet and bush honeysuckle can form dense understory around Knoxville. Suitable shrubs and saplings can be mulched while marked trees stay. Privet and kudzu may return from surviving roots; one pass opens the site but does not guarantee permanent control.

Land Clearing Questions,
Clear Answers.

What is the difference between bush hogging, mulching and clearing?

Bush hogging cuts grass, weeds and light stems up to about 1 inch. Mulching shreds suitable woody growth into on-site mulch. Clearing can include larger approved trees, roots and hauling. Equipment, access and your desired finish decide the method.

Is debris removal included?

Forestry mulch normally stays on the ground. For clearing and tree removal, the quote should specify hauling, stump work and the finish. Agree on what will remain before work starts.

How long will my project take?

Light mowing may take hours; dense brush, larger trees and haul-off can take several days. Slopes, access, ground conditions, weather and approvals affect timing. Confirm the schedule against your specific scope.
